TOSCA: Vege Café and Dining (Vegan in Kyoto, Japan)

Tofu Steak with Vegetables and Onion Sauce from 100% vegan restaurant Tosca (Kyoto, Japan)

Located close to Kyoto University is the delightful 100% vegan restaurant TOSCA. It is run by two very friendly Japanese sisters Asuka and Tomoka, who went to school in Australia and speak perfect English. The menu is in both Japanese and English. They both have degrees in design-related fields, which is one reason each plate is so artfully presented.

Brown Rice Risotto made with Soy and Oat Milk...very creamy and flavorful with perfectly cooked rice and veggies! From 100% vegan restaurant Tosca (Kyoto, Japan)

The desserts were delicious and gorgeous as well. The Cake of the Day was a Purple Carrot and Cinnamon Cake, which was moist and not overly sweet. The Mixed Fruit Jelly (made with the vegan gelling ingredient agar) was cool and refreshing...the perfect summer dessert. We also got a Cocoa Walnut Muffin to take home for breakfast the next morning, but forgot to take a photo of it. Wish we were able to get two, but it was the last one so we had to share it.
