Vegan Breakfast & Brunch Options at Ellie's Table in South Orange County, CA, USA

A dear friend of mine from ballet class surprised me one day when she brought me a Vegan Banana Walnut Muffin for absolutely no reason at all! When I asked her where she got it, she told me she saw it at Ellie's Table in San Clemente. I wasn't aware of this place, so Ryan and I went to check it out. Turns out they have several locations, so we went to the one in San Juan Capistrano. There were only a few vegan items on the menu, but they were great!

My favorite dish was the Soyrizo Con Papas. This was Soyrizo with Jay's Homestyle Potatoes and Black Beans, garnished with Pico de Gallo, Fire-Roasted Anaheim Peppers, and Guacamolito Avocado Sauce. I would definitely get this again! Be sure to specify you want the vegan version with no cheese, as there is another version of this dish that's made with Chorizo (pork/pig flesh).

Also very good was the Muesli Breakfast Bowl made with Cinnamon Almond Milk, and topped with Strawberries, Bananas, Blueberries, Unsweetened Coconut, and Chia Seeds. This one is vegan as ordered with no modifications necessary.

I was happy to see the Vegan Banana Walnut Muffin, clearly identified as Vegan, right in the pastry case. It's moist and flavorful. The menu lists a "Seasonal Vegan Muffin", so I'm looking forward to trying some of their other flavors next time. Coffee was excellent as well, and almond milk is available for coffee drinks.

It's so nice when a non-vegan restaurant takes the time and effort to offer thoughtful vegan dishes instead of just saying "well, you can have a side salad with no dressing". Thank you Ellie's Table for taking care of your environmentally-aware, health-conscious, and animal-loving customers. We hope that you will offer ever more vegan options in the near future!

Peace and love to all who live,

Susan
